Is the mailbox in/on my home mine, or does the Post Office own it?
I bought my house, which included the mail box attached to the outside wall near my front door. Many people say that advertising flyers are not allowed to be place in it. I disagree. It’s mine, and if I prefer those flyers to be placed there, then it’s my choice.
If it’s attached to your house it is your property. If it is a mailbox at the curb, it’s the federal government’s property.
naughty: yeah, that’s the government for you, lol! I had someone hit my mailbox with a car, and I called the post office to report it and they asked me if it was completely gone or if it was just bent or knocked over. They would have replaced it if it was completely gone, but I made the mistake of telling them that it was just knocked over and they told me to have someone re-post it. Our tax dollars hard at work

Does anyone make a wall mount mailbox with a flag for outgoing mail?
We’re looking for something we can attach to a brick post. We don’t want one that locks.
