Laundry Sink
How can I get my laundry sink to drain?
My husband put some tomato soup down the garbage disposal in the kitchen. After running the disposal, the laundry sink (in the garage) filled with tomato soupy water. It drained fine overnight. However, I ran a small load of laundry today and the sink would not drain out the laundry water. The washing machine still has a bit of water in it as well.
I’m assuming the disposal has a clog that is connected to the sink, but I’m not sure of the best way to clear it. It’s an old house (built in the late 60s/early 70s) and the washing machine has a tube that drains into the sink next to it. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
If it is affecting all your sinks, and it sounds like it is, it is the main drain. Call a roto-router service. The laundry sink is probably the lowest fixture and the water is taking the path of least resistance (which should be the main drain) and that is why stuff from the kitchen and washing machine are finding there way there..

what to do with a really bad clog in the laundry room sink?
sooo….. our washer is really old now. when it’s time for the rinse it pours the water directly into the sink next to it. today we washed and when i came back to check on the laundry there was water all over. i thought there was something covering the sink hole but nothing was there. we tried using the plunger but it didn’t work. we rented a machine to help unplug it but nothing. we even took out the sink and nothing. nothing is working.
is there any suggestions on what we can do too unplug that sink?

laundry room is in garage.
never place any chemicals into a system that has had laundry waste water placed into it… a reaction can occur with the mix of chemicals. you need a hand auger designed for sinks and small drains with at least a 25 foot cable. the people at the hard ware store will be happy to show you how to operate it and it is cheap and can be used later for other clogs.
