What is the best tool to use to remove lava rock around a fireplace to make it flush for cultured stone?
I’d like to know the tool I would need besides a hammer and the type of wood to put under the cultured stone I want to put in. I’ve seen brick addressed many times on DIY but never lava rock. Thanks
How uneven is it? If it’s not real bad, try coating it with stucco. If it is real uneven, try an angle grinder with a diamond blade.

From everything I’ve seen, there is no specifics on the origin of the quote (I just have google, no books in front of me) However, the quote seems so famous that you can quote it as is and be fine with it.
