How can you tell the difference between a bad alternator and a bad battery? Have battery booster.?
I have a ford explorer that recently wouldnt start. I have one of the black and decker instant jump start things (that you charge in the wall) and I tried it but it didnt start from it. I dont think the charger was all the way charged so that could be it (its plugged in now and will try after its charged long enough) but I want to know if there are any signs that you can tell if its the alternator and just a battery needing to be replaced?
I know you can go and have it looked at but Id like to know if there was any other ways to figure out what the problem is before doing that.
just get it running and go to autozone and ask for their free charging system check and they will tell you whats wrong.

Can a battery booster act as a battery charger if left connected over nigth?
If the battery booster is connected to the battery and plugged to a 110 Volts AC, does it act as a battery charger if it is left for a long period of time? If this is not correct, what are risk involved?
